Newtown Slasher Still on the Loose, or Inspired Copycat?
The NCPD found another body believed to be a victim of the Newtown Slasher, or a very accurate copycat. This comes on the tail of finally getting their suspect put away. Terry Johnson was arrested last week and locked up for the 7 killings the police have linked to the Newtown Slasher case. He stated that “This is just another case of the police wrongfully imprisoning a black man trying to make a living in this town.” Terry Johnson has been convicted of a few crimes in the past, but for each one he was able to reduce his sentence by striking a deal with the police. It seems that his bargaining wasn’t able to get him out of this one. However, it looks like he may have been right about the police having the wrong person. The police still believe that Johnson was the real Newtown Slasher and that this murder was done by a copycat. Lead detective on the case, Eric Case, had this to say, “Terry Johnson had motive and a lot of evidence stacked up against him. We had other suspects but of them, Johnson was definitely the one who fit the bill.” Detective Case has a record of always catching his criminal, but has that gone to his head? We here at the Newtown News say, whatever the case, make sure to stay safe out there and have faith that our Newtown police will see to it that the Slasher, and their possible copycat, will be behind bars where they belong.
